The weather today is not much warmer than yesterday, but the wind has dropped (?no wind chill...) and better still, no snow! James had some birds seen at Gruinart today, 4 Woodcock, male Hen Harrier, 1 Peregrine, 1 Sparrowhawk along at Woodside, 28 Fieldfare, 5 Mistle Thrush and also 6 Whooper Swans on the floods. This morning down close to Sunderland, I had a Merlin and this afternoon, a Sparrowhawk perched on top of the gate to the cairn of the Battle at Gruinart. Thanks to Michal and to James for writing the blog while I was away in Glasgow, it was not much warmer there, and better still the ferry was sailing when we arrived at Kennacraig, as earlier ferries had been cancelled.
